Jorden kan pl\u00f6jas en sista g\u00e5ng om den \u00e4r f\u00f6r h\u00e5rd, \u00e4ven om den inte rekommenderas eftersom den skulle destabilisera markens livsl\u00e4ngd. Om det finns mycket gr\u00e4s kan det vara bra att anv\u00e4nda en borstfr\u00e4s eller klippa dem manuellt, sprida dem ut p\u00e5 golvet och bl\u00f6tl\u00e4gga dem. Vi kan ocks\u00e5 anv\u00e4nda djur, till exempel h\u00f6ns, ankor, g\u00e4ss eller grisar, bygga en \u00e4nda i tr\u00e4dg\u00e5rden – som vi kallar k\u00f6kstr\u00e4dg\u00e5rd – en korrel som kan fixas eller flyttas med skugga och vatten s\u00e5 att vi kan l\u00e4mna v\u00e5ra djur i tillr\u00e4ckligt med tid, vilket kommer att vara n\u00e4r f\u00e4ltet \u00e4r gr\u00e4sfritt och befruktas av djuren (se avsnitt III.1).<\/p>\n

Om vi kasserar v\u00e5r egen mogna kompost kan det r\u00e4cka med att starta. Om vi beh\u00f6vde stora m\u00e4ngder kunde vi f\u00e5 den fr\u00e5n en n\u00e4rliggande bonde genom att byta ut den mot andra produkter om b\u00e5da parter \u00e4r \u00f6verens. Nej. Minst m\u00e5ste den k\u00f6kstr\u00e4dg\u00e5rden i b\u00f6rjan ha ett j\u00e4mnt lager av kompost 15 till 20 cm h\u00f6g. Detta arbete \u00e4r den viktigaste investeringen som vi m\u00e5ste g\u00f6ra f\u00f6r att uppn\u00e5 goda resultat permanent fr\u00e5n f\u00f6rsta \u00e5ret. Vi f\u00e5r aldrig f\u00f6rl\u00e4nga ett lager tunnare \u00e4n 15-20 cm kompost, \u00e4ven om vi vill ha mer jordbruksmark. Det \u00e4r b\u00e4ttre att ha mindre utrymme med minsta kompostf\u00f6rslag \u00e4n att f\u00f6rs\u00f6ka f\u00e5 mer yta med mindre kompost (se avsnitt III.1).<\/p>\n

Biotoper, sm\u00e5 vattendammar med djurliv och akvatiska och \/ eller semi-akvatiska v\u00e4xter, \u00e4r viktiga f\u00f6r att skapa r\u00e4tt f\u00f6rh\u00e5llanden genom att locka en m\u00e4ngd olika f\u00f6rdelaktiga fauna, fr\u00e5n rovdjur som underl\u00e4ttar balansen mellan det \u00e4tliga tr\u00e4dg\u00e5rdsekosystemet och milj\u00f6n, genom samtidigt \u00f6kar de biologiska m\u00e5ngfalden p\u00e5 platsen (se avsnitt II.5).<\/p>\n

Om vi \u200b\u200buppt\u00e4cker en tillf\u00e4llig liten pest eller sjukdom i en gr\u00f6nsak eller en v\u00e4xt, beh\u00f6ver vi inte ingripa eftersom den nuvarande balansen i v\u00e5r \u00e4tliga tr\u00e4dg\u00e5rd inte till\u00e5ter att pesten expanderar fr\u00e5n en anl\u00e4ggning till en annan. Det \u00e4r b\u00e4ttre att observera \u00e4n att agera. The soil could be ploughed one last time if it is too hard, even though it is not recommended since it would destabilize the soil life. If there is a lot of grass, it could be good to use a brush cutter or to cut them manually, spreading them out on the floor and soaking them. We can also use animals, such as hens, ducks, geese or pigs, building a corral in the garden -which we call edible garden-, a corral which can be fixed or movable, with shadow and water so we can leave our animals in enough time, which will be when the field is grass free and fertilised by the animals (see section III.1).<\/p>

If we dispose of our own mature compost it could be enough to start. If we needed large amounts we could obtain it from a nearby farmer by exchanging it for other products if both parties agree. This can either be organic vegetable compost, animal compost or even a mixture of both (see section III.1).<\/p>

This work is the most important investment that we must make to obtain good results permanently from the first year. By observing the soil, we can see that the mulch and the newspaper or cardboard used at the beginning have decomposed and therefore we can start to notice the dark tone of the soil. When we start to notice small, bared areas in the mulch, this is the moment when the soil is hinting us that we need to cover it up again. This is the moment we need to restore the soil\u00b4s skin with some type of organic matter that functions as a cover. In principle, for this first maintenance of the soil\u2019s skin, there should be no need of putting newspapers or cardboard again before applying the organic matter. Only if the cultivation area is heavily invaded with difficult-to-remove adventitious plants, would it oblige us to stop the cultivation of the affected surface, and put the newspaper or cardboard back in order to control them (see section V.1).<\/p>

Organic vegetable matter can be green or dry like hay, shredded twigs and branches, fallen leaves, weeds, vegetable waste, pruning remains, etc. We have to take into account that once it is spread over the newspapers or cardboards, depending on the type of organic matter we have chosen, seed shoots could emerge that would germinate on the paper, not having the possibility of developing and therefore being added to the mulch (see section III.1).<\/p>

Maintaining edible gardens with a high density of vegetables attracts all possible life into the area, creating the perfect conditions to obtain a natural balance of plagues and predators that secure healthy vegetables, plants, bushes and fruit trees (see section V.2). Biotopes, small water ponds with animal life and aquatic and \/ or semi-aquatic plants, are essential to create the right conditions by attracting a wide variety of beneficial fauna, from predators that facilitate the balance of the edible garden ecosystem and the environment, by at the same time they increase the biodiversity of the place (see section II.5).\u00a0<\/p>

In case we detect an occasional small plague or disease in a vegetable or plant, we do not have to intervene because the existing balance of our edible garden does not allow the plague to expand from one plant to another. It is better to observe than to act. The information that we receive by observing the plants tells us that the soil might not be completely balanced in this spot and that we have to wait until it balances itself. And, if we needed to act, it would only be by giving more nutrients to the soil (see section V.2).<\/p>
